According to Bloomberg on June 27, 2024, the European Union (EU) has decided to 'fine-tune' the tariff rates on Chinese electric cars after receiving data from affected companies. The tariff for SAIC has been reduced from 38.1% to 37.6%, while Geely's tariff decreased from 20% to 19.9%. BYD's rate remains unchanged at 17.4%. China's Ministry of Commerce expressed the hope for a mutually acceptable solution in electric car tariff negotiations with the EU. Companies not cooperating with the EU investigation will face additional tariffs of up to 37.6%.
