During a two-day summit of the European Union Council, leaders discussed internal matters and invited Ukrainian President Zelensky to exchange views on the situation in Ukraine and sign a joint security commitment. The EU's security commitment includes military funding, military training, assistance in defense reform, cooperation in the defense industry, addressing cyber information warfare, civil defense reform, energy and nuclear safety, intelligence sharing, as well as assistance in implementing internal reforms, diplomatic and financial support for Ukraine's EU membership. The summit also reached an agreement to nominate von der Leyen for the President of the EU Commission again.
