The European Union is set to announce a plan to impose additional import tariffs of 25 percent on inexpensive Chinese electric vehicles, potentially sparking a trade conflict with Beijing. Following an eight-month investigation revealing extensive state support for Chinese EV manufacturers, the EU aims to increase import tariffs on EVs from China to up to 35 percent.
