EU to Impose Taxes on Chinese Electric Cars, Rumors of Volvo Electric Car Plant Leaving China

Reported about 1 year ago

Volvo is reportedly moving its EV production of the EX30 series from China to Belgium ahead of the possible announcement of tariffs on Chinese-made electric cars by the EU this week. The EU is expected to notify electric car manufacturers in China about increasing import tariffs from the current 10% starting on July 4th. Volvo denies the claim, stating that the decision to shift production to Belgium is not related to the EU investigation into Chinese electric cars but to be closer to key markets. China, on the other hand, criticizes the EU's actions, while a Chinese dairy company is seeking anti-dumping investigations on EU dairy products.
