In response to extreme weather and the challenge of energy transformation, Formosa Plastics Group has been expanding its layout of green energy such as solar, wind, and hydropower in addition to deploying cogeneration projects at the Mailiao Sixth Naphtha Cracker and Mailiao Gas-fired Power Plant. The group has also enhanced its control over hydropower resources by constructing a seawater desalination plant at Mailiao, incorporating AI for intelligent production, process optimization, quality inspection, maintenance forecasting and safety predictions, with the aim to increase annual benefits by 200 to 300 billion NT dollars. Moreover, the group has pursued solar, small hydropower, and wind power projects, established an ESG organization, and integrated various latest technologies in energy efficiency improvement, fuel transformation, energy conversion, green renewable energy development, and CO2 recycling for a sustainable future.
