Expansion of Telemedicine Services Starting Today Benefits Ten Types of Patients

Reported 12 months ago

The new regulations on telemedicine and teleconsultation took effect on June 30, 2024, benefiting around 2.47 million patients who can now receive medical consultations from home via video calls. The new system covers ten major categories of patients, including chronic patients and those requiring emergency care such as peritoneal dialysis or home urgent care. This expansion aims to provide easier access to medical care, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the new regulations also include provisions for special circumstances and conditions. Additionally, a trial program for home urgent care will benefit around 5,000 patients annually by providing medical services at home for conditions like pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and soft tissue infections, reducing healthcare costs and improving patient care.
