On June 8, 2024, in New Taipei City, a family of four encountered a bee attack while playing by Xizhi Creek, resulting in the mother and daughter being stung. The Fire Department was called to assist in rescuing the family from the situation. They were taken to safety, and although the exact type of bees that stung the mother and daughter was unknown, the family decided to seek medical attention on their own. The Fire Department reminded the public to calmly leave the area if encountering a bee swarm to avoid provoking them into an aggressive state, and to call emergency services for help if needed.
