In Sichuan Province, China, a family of four from Mi Yi County mistakenly brought back poisonous mushrooms while foraging, leading to one death and three family members in critical condition after consuming them. The incident occurred on June 19 when a mother went mushroom picking with her 15-year-old son, unintentionally picking toxic Amanita mushrooms. The family, including the grandmother who visited that day, suffered from mushroom poisoning symptoms and were hospitalized. The grandmother passed away due to the severity of the poisoning, while the other three are still receiving medical treatment, with the son potentially needing a liver transplant.
