A violent murder occurred in a residential property in Wanhua District, Taipei on the afternoon of June 9. The incident involved a 78-year-old landlord, surnamed Yan, who was attacked by his 68-year-old tenant, surnamed Chen, with a knife over a rent debt dispute. The conflict escalated with Chen inflicting multiple stab wounds on Yan, leading to a gruesome sight where internal organs were exposed. Chen later turned himself in to the police. Both individuals had low-income backgrounds and health issues, with Chen even requiring regular dialysis. The tragic incident shocked the neighbors, revealing deeper issues beyond the rent dispute.
