In her inaugural policy address, Cleveland Fed President Beth Hammack indicated that it may be time to slow the pace of interest rate cuts, citing strong economic conditions. Hammack stated that moving cautiously allows for better calibration of policy, especially given the recent solid job growth and prevailing inflation concerns. As the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting nears, she remains open to data-driven decisions regarding the federal funds rate, currently between 4.5% and 4.75%.
