A female police officer surnamed Liu in Taipei was sentenced to 4 months in jail for using a forged medical report to falsely accuse a female college student of being injured after hitting her with a patrol car. Initially, both parties agreed to settle for compensation, but the student decided to press charges for negligence against Liu, who was then sentenced to 5 days in detention. Liu, dissatisfied, used a fake medical diagnosis to counter-sue the student, but the student was not prosecuted and instead accused Liu of false accusation. Despite reconciliation attempts between the student and Liu, the judge ruled Liu's actions as a serious crime, sentencing her to 4 months in jail without parole.
