Scam groups often impersonate celebrity fan pages to carry out fraudulent activities, including investment scams. Financial anchor Yeh Chih-Chuan recently encountered this situation where her fan page was impersonated by a scam group. After reporting the fraudulent page through the anti-fraud mailbox of the National Communications Commission, the verified fan page with a blue checkmark disappeared inexplicably, while the impostor page remained, prompting her to express frustration over the NCC's response. The NCC explained that they had erroneously taken down the legitimate page, but swiftly restored it with the help of META. They are currently developing a platform to combat fraud, slated to launch in August this year.
