A fire broke out at a BBQ store on Shangshang Road, resulting in the death and injury of two student workers. The fire department's preliminary investigation determined that the fire started at the ceiling wiring outside the store's entrance. The neighboring stores mentioned that the BBQ store usually hangs a sign saying they are closed during break times, but for unknown reasons, they closed the metal shutter on the day of the fire, trapping the two students inside when the power was cut off. Efforts are ongoing to clean up the aftermath, with authorities attributing the fire's origin to the external ceiling wiring. Despite the quick spread of the fire after power outage, the students were unable to escape as the shutter was closed during their break time.
