A fire broke out at the Miaoli branch of the popular chain hotpot restaurant, Chiba Hotpot, with the flames being extinguished around 6 a.m. Unexpectedly, during a fire investigation around 11 a.m., residual sparks reignited due to air inflow, causing thick black smoke to billow out. The fire started in the kitchen early in the morning and was quickly controlled and put out by firefighters. Currently, efforts are underway to tackle the resurging flames. Witnesses reported road closures and ongoing firefighting efforts via the 'Miaoli Happenings' Facebook group.
