On June 7, 2024, around 10:56 pm, firefighters attempted to extinguish a fire at an iron sheet factory near the Xiluo Town New Xing Road Fruit and Vegetable Market in Yunlin County. The fire caused thick black smoke to billow out while the flames continued burning inside the factory. The factory, operated by the owner's son, caught fire while the son was out delivering goods, with the cause of the fire still unknown. Firefighters had to break down the gates using a forklift due to the persistent reignition of flames inside the building, which stored flammable materials like plastic pellets. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and an investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing.
