The first cluster of Dengue fever outbreak after the arrival of summer has been reported in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The Department of Health announced one new local case of Dengue fever last week, making a total of 2 local cases since the beginning of summer, both residing in Fengshan District in Kaohsiung. The Director of Epidemic Prevention has visited Kaohsiung to inspect the situation and encourage frontline workers. The public is urged to take precautions as the risk of Dengue fever and other mosquito-borne illnesses is high, especially during the hot and rainy season.
