According to investigations, five life insurance companies including Fubon, Allianz, Anbang, Taishin, and AIA are set to cease sales on 21 policies across hospitalization, accident insurance, and disability insurance categories by the end of June. Concerns arise whether this is related to the new Life Insurance Act coming in July. However, the Financial Supervisory Commission clarified that the halt is due to each company's operational strategy and unrelated to the new act. Fubon Life leads the pack in discontinuing 12 policies, mainly related to medical and accident insurance, as part of preparations for the impact of new accounting standards and sales performance considerations.
