Flu Outpatients Exceed 100,000, 1212 Severe Cases; Free Antiviral Drugs Extended to 7/31

Reported 12 months ago

The number of flu outpatients in Taiwan has exceeded 100,000 in a single week with 1212 severe cases, prompting the Ministry of Health and Welfare to extend the use of free antiviral drugs until July 31. The majority of the recent cases were attributed to Type A H1N1 flu virus, and the health authorities urge vigilance as the flu season escalates. With a significant portion of severe cases and deaths occurring in unvaccinated individuals, the public is advised to seek medical attention promptly if experiencing respiratory distress or other dangerous symptoms, especially with the ongoing summer vacation and increased public gatherings. Free antiviral drugs can be obtained without rapid testing under certain conditions.
