Ford Motor Company announced that its $3 billion electric vehicle battery plant in Michigan, currently 60% complete and expected to employ 1,700 workers, is on track to qualify for production tax credits after revisions to a significant tax and budget bill. The facility, which will produce batteries using technology from Chinese firm CATL, is planned to start operations in 2026. This comes after initial concerns about potential cuts to tax credits for batteries using Chinese components.
