Former Mayor of Taoyuan and Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, Cheng Wen-tsang, was summoned by the Taoyuan District Prosecutor's Office on July 5th for alleged corruption. After a 16-hour overnight interrogation, the prosecutor's office determined him to be a major suspect and arrested him. Cheng Wen-tsang, through his lawyer, denied any wrongdoing and expressed the desire to clarify the truth quickly. He will appear in detention court at the Taoyuan District Court today with his lawyer.
