Former New Taipei City Councilor Chen Ke-ming was sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison and deprived of public rights for 3 years by the High Court for accepting a bribe of 200,000 under the Anti-Corruption Act. Chen had already started serving his sentence in April at Yilan Prison. Chen was found guilty of abusing his position as a councilor by accepting the bribe to assist in a building demolition case. Despite his denial of the charges and lack of remorse, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal.
