Former Taipei City police Ningxia Police Station chief Yeh Yu-hsin has been sentenced to 14 years and 8 months for receiving bribes, money laundering, and forging documents in collusion with the leader of a Taiwanese-Cambodian fraud ring nicknamed 'Lan Dao'. The ring imprisoned 61 job seekers, leading to 3 deaths and illegal gains of over NT$390 million. Yeh was accused of leaking police investigation details to the fraud ring for cash and luxury items. A total of 33 individuals involved in the fraud have been charged with 7535 crimes, setting a record for the highest number of defendants and crimes in a single fraud case in Taiwan.
