On June 19, 2024, at 4:10 PM, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee concluded his visit to Taiwan before returning to the U.S. During his second visit to Tatung, they confirmed their cooperation once again. Huckabee actively assessed the equipment needs of Arkansas Power Company and invited Tatung to invest in setting up a plant. Both parties scheduled a visit to Arkansas to implement their collaboration plan in July. Tatung will focus on supplying transformers as the main product, with wires, cables, and motors following closely. Huckabee's main purpose in visiting Tatung was to understand if their heavy electrical equipment production capacity could support potential U.S. demands, as the U.S. has been actively upgrading its power grid and expanding its data center infrastructure. To strengthen long-term supply relationships, Huckabee invited Tatung to set up a plant in the U.S. Tatung expressed readiness due to their prior establishment of a U.S. subsidiary in California. They have the experience to address power needs comprehensively in Arkansas and are currently reviewing local regulations and tax issues before proceeding further.
