Following the rejection of the parliamentary reform review, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) plans to collectively submit a constitutional interpretation request from the Presidential Office, Executive Yuan, Legislative Yuan party caucuses, and Control Yuan. Kuomintang legislator Lu Chih-chang urged the Chief Justice not to act as a green gatekeeper. Lu pointed out that with the participation of two-thirds of the total number of current Chief Justices, and over half in agreement, a declaration of unconstitutionality can be made; meaning 6 to 8 Chief Justices can overturn laws passed by over half of the legislators representing the majority public opinion. Lu emphasized the importance of the legislative power as a key constitutional political authority based on public opinion, urging caution in not allowing the judiciary to strip or undermine the legislative power. He called on the Chief Justices to be self-aware and not allow the Constitution's judicial court to become an appendage of the green camp.
