French digital music company Believe has rejected allegations of copyright infringement made by Universal Music Group (UMG), which is seeking at least $500 million in damages. UMG claims Believe profited from distributing altered copyrighted recordings, including 'sped-up' versions of songs by prominent artists. Believe asserts it takes copyright seriously and plans to contest these allegations, which were filed in a New York court.
