Fraudulent schemes continue to emerge, targeting well-known figures in politics and business, such as New Taipei City Council Speaker Jiang Genhuang. A man surnamed Li claimed to be Jiang's relative and a high-ranking executive in construction and development companies under the Speaker's supervision, deceiving the public. Jiang clarified that he does not know the man and warned the public against falling for the scam. Reports revealed that individuals were swindled out of at least NT$450,000 by the man. Jiang's office is actively collecting evidence and urging victims to report to the police for investigation, stressing a zero-tolerance policy towards such crimes. Authorities are also investigating the case and advising the public to beware of fraud under false pretenses like impersonating relatives or celebrities.
