The French antitrust authority has granted approval for Carrefour to acquire the French business of Belgian retailer Louis Delhaize, contingent upon the sale of eight stores to competitors. Carrefour aims to finalize these sales, which include five hypermarkets and three supermarkets generating over 300 million euros in total sales, by the end of 2025. The acquisition will also give Carrefour control over the Cora and Match stores in France and is expected to create synergies worth 130 million euros by 2027.
