UK Corporate Distress Reaches Highest Level Since COVID-19

Reported about 10 hours ago

A report from Alvarez & Marsal reveals that corporate distress in the UK has risen for the third consecutive year, hitting its peak since the COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 11.2% of UK companies faced challenges such as weak profitability and insufficient liquidity last year, up from previous years. Rising costs and elevated interest rates have placed a burden on businesses, particularly affecting sectors dependent on low-income labor. Other European countries are also experiencing similar distress levels.
