In the first round of French parliamentary elections held on June 30, the far-right party emerged on top with 33.2% of the votes, followed by the left-wing party at 28.1%. President Macron's party, the Renewal Party, only received around 21% of the votes, marking a significant defeat. The voter turnout was notably high at 65.5% to 69.7%, almost a 20-point rise from 2022. The far-right party's success in this election follows their first-place ranking in the European Parliament elections earlier in June, indicating a potential shift in France's political landscape.
