Warner Bros' "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" had a warm reception at its Cannes Film Festival premiere, but underperformed with a $58.9 million global opening weekend, despite strong critical and social scores. The film, catering to a fanboy-driven R-rated audience, had its top opening market in Korea and saw good starts in various countries. Despite a strong IMAX launch, the movie struggled to attract casual moviegoers, possibly due to competition and nice weather keeping people outdoors.
