During a recent query session, DPP legislator Lin Shufen asked if there was a possibility of declaring May Day a national holiday in 2025. Premier Su Tseng-chang responded that while the process of seeking consensus was not smooth, they would explore the best approach in the future. The issue had been discussed before the cabinet was reshuffled, with support from former Premier Chen Chien-jen. However, the current 2025 government calendar does not list May Day as a national holiday, disappointing many who had hoped for a change.
