The Giants made several roster moves, placing LaMonte Wade Jr. on the 10-day IL due to a hamstring strain while running the bases. In response to this injury and a bullpen game, the team brought Tyler Fitzgerald back from Triple-A, purchased the contracts of Spencer Howard and Trenton Brooks, and cleared spots by Designated for Assignment Drew Pomeranz and Ryan McKenna. Brooks, known for his high OBP, brings a left-handed bat similar to Wade's profile. Fitzgerald, recognized for hitting six homers in six Triple-A games, is expected to play in the outfield and as a pinch-runner. Howard, a former Phillies' second-round pick, is set to pitch multiple innings after opener Erik Miller, while McKenna and Pomeranz are no longer with the team.
