Golden Horse double winner Chen Shufang's latest short film 'Red Envelope' premiered at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Japan on June 7th, becoming the first international film to be screened on the opening day of this year's festival. The film not only showcased Taiwan but is also competing for the highest honor of Best Short Film in Asia. Attending the event, Chen Shufang expressed gratitude for the reception and engaged with international audiences, presenting red envelope gift bags symbolizing Taiwan's culture and contributing to Taiwan's cultural diplomacy, hoping to showcase Taiwan's high-quality film production and talent to the world and encourage collaboration. The world premiere gathered stars like Chen Shufang, Japanese veteran actor Kunimura Jun, and Japanese actor Hatamoto Tokio, among others, with ambassadors and industry figures showing support. Directed by young filmmaker Xu Qianchun and produced by Bright International Film and Seven Sky Images, 'Red Envelope' features a diverse cast including Chen Shufang, Zach Ireland, Zheng Yongyue, Huang Wei, and even Taiwanese tourism industry figure Lee Chiyue making a cameo appearance, all delivering impressive performances.
