Google and LINE Enhance Online Fraud Prevention Measures

In an exclusive report on July 1, 2024, at 11:49 PM, the Ministry of Digital Development, led by Minister Huang Yen-Nan, gathered Google and LINE to discuss fraud prevention measures. The platforms agreed to cooperate with the proposed Anti-Fraud Crime Prevention Act currently under legislative review and communicate closely with the ministry to prioritize high-risk fraud cases, as well as collaborate on educating the public to combat online fraud together. Google provided insights on measures taken to reduce investment fraud advertisements, while LINE committed to enhancing fraud prevention awareness through their services. Minister Huang will also invite Meta to further discuss fraud prevention measures on July 4. The efforts aim to increase public awareness and reduce online fraud risks to create a safer digital environment through public-private cooperation.
