Government Reform Law Subject to Constitutional Interpretation if Re-Evaluation Fails, Premier Su Tseng-chang Says

Reported 8 months ago

The Legislative Yuan's whole-house committee continued its review of the government's proposal for parliamentary reform today, with Premier Su Tseng-chang stating that if the re-evaluation fails and the law takes effect, they will submit it for constitutional interpretation. During the questioning, DPP legislator Kuo Kuo-wen expressed pessimism about the re-evaluation passing and asked when the Premier planned to submit it for constitutional interpretation if it fails. Su Tseng-chang replied that it would be after the law takes effect, emphasizing the need for consensus between the executive and legislative branches if the re-evaluation does not succeed.
