A Harvard Business School graduate, Vladimir Artamonov, was arrested for allegedly defrauding fellow alumni out of over $4 million through a Ponzi scheme. From September 2021 to February 2024, he promised high returns with low risk, manipulating his status as an alum to gain trust. Instead of investing wisely, he lost millions in risky options while using funds from new investors to pay back earlier ones. The fraud was uncovered after one investor tragically took his own life after losing $100,000, highlighting the personal and professional betrayal involved.
