Multiple tourists were reported missing, with one American tourist found dead on the beach due to the extreme heat. Many foreign tourists expressed concerns about the scorching weather, with temperatures exceeding 40°C. The recent heatwave in Southern Europe has led to the temporary closure of famous tourist sites like the Acropolis in Athens. Experts advise wearing hats, light-colored clothing, staying hydrated, and using sunscreen when outdoors amidst the rising temperatures and increased risk of heat-related illnesses and fatalities. The local Greek Red Cross coordinator warned that with climate change, heatwaves and heat-related illnesses leading to deaths are becoming more frequent.
