During a press conference, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) stated that the Nationalist Party and People First Party had forcefully passed a bill to expand the powers of the Parliament, intending to investigate DPP's alleged wrongdoings in cases concerning eggs, vaccines, and solar energy. However, the DPP highlighted that the solar energy scandal actually involved political figures from the Nationalist Party camp and accused them of being the ones who initiated the corruption. The DPP urged the opposition not to politicize the expansion of parliamentary powers and use it as a tool to suppress dissent. Additionally, the DPP emphasized the importance of renewable energy sources for Taiwan's industrial competitiveness and criticized the opposition for distorting the image of green energy and causing unnecessary political strife.
