During the graduation season, it is common for celebrities and politicians to deliver speeches at school ceremonies. Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Lin Yi-chin recently spoke at a high school graduation ceremony in Tainan and brought up the 'Green Bird Movement' for students to reflect on, causing an awkward atmosphere with even some booing. In response, Kuomintang legislator Wang Hung-wei criticized the DPP for opposing political interference in schools while continuing to do so, aiming to poison young minds. Wang pointed out various instances of political involvement in schools including a recent scandal with Taipei University, emphasizing the detrimental impact on students and the reputation of educational institutions.
