Green legislators happily ate and took selfies with dragon fruit at the Internal Affairs Committee meeting in the Legislative Yuan. A fierce clash between the blue and green camps resulted in the inability to hold the meeting, with KMT legislators led by Fu Kun-chi retreating. During lunchtime, the green legislators had boxed lunches and then enjoyed a large plate of red dragon fruit brought in by their staffers. Wang Meihui, a DPP legislator, praised the fruit and playfully remarked how well they grew, subtly referencing an incident involving an opposition party legislator who had taken dragon fruit back to Vietnam to cultivate. The meeting was disrupted by conflicts between the parties, which included the DPP's early occupation of the chairman's platform and later withdrawal of the KMT legislators led by Fu Kun-chi.
