To alleviate traffic congestion in Kyoto and cater to tourists, Kyoto City introduced 6 new Rokujo sightseeing bus routes starting June 1, 2024, including the weekend-exclusive 'Rokujo Line Sightseeing Express Buses' EX100 and EX101, while the other four are normal bus routes. The buses accept cash, IC cards like ICOCA or SUICA, and the Kyoto Subway-Bus One-day Pass. These express buses have limited stops for faster travel to popular destinations, with detailed routes, fares, and operating days provided for each line.
