During a grass court match at the Rothesay Open, Harriet Dart expressed frustration over what she deemed as poor calls by the chair umpire, at one point challenging the officiator over a £50,000 bet that a ball she believed was out was called in. The match, lasting 3 hours and 13 minutes, saw Dart engage in a heated exchange with the umpire, Kelly Rask, prompting Dart to criticize the umpiring standard as 'pretty appalling' and advocate for the introduction of electronic line-calling for fair play. Despite the contentious calls, Dart eventually lost the match to British No 1 Katie Boulter, who commended Dart's performance and battled through challenges to defend her title from the previous year.
