Heatwave Alert Issued by CWB for 6 Counties and Cities in Taiwan, Extreme High Temperatures of 38 Degrees Expected in Taitung

Due to the influence of southwest winds, a heatwave hit Taiwan on June 15, 2024, leading to CWB issuing high-temperature warnings for 6 counties and cities in Taiwan. Taitung County is under an orange alert with a probability of extreme high temperatures of 38 degrees, while Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Changhua County, and Hualien County are under a yellow alert. CWB advises people to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, stay hydrated, prevent heat injuries, keep indoor spaces ventilated and cool, and take measures such as using fans or ice packs to cool down. Special precautions are advised for vulnerable groups and those working or engaging in outdoor activities. Measures to prevent agricultural losses in windy areas are also recommended.
