As the US continues to experience a prolonged heatwave on July 7, with temperatures reaching dangerous levels in parts of the West, a motorcyclist died in Death Valley, California. The East also remains hot and humid. Extreme high temperature warnings have been issued, covering 36 million people, approximately 10% of the US population. Record-breaking temperatures have been observed in various areas of the West and Pacific Northwest. Despite the extreme heat, visitors are still attracted to Death Valley National Park, where temperatures have soared to 53.3 degrees Celsius and tragic incidents have occurred.
