The Central Weather Bureau has issued a high temperature warning for Taipei and three other cities due to the lingering effects of a southwest wind, with temperatures possibly exceeding 36 degrees and feeling like 42 degrees. South of Miaoli, sporadic short thunderstorms and showers are expected, while caution is advised for sudden thunderstorms in the afternoon in mountainous areas, Taipei, and northeastern regions. The extreme heat is particularly severe in Taipei and eastern Taiwan, with temperatures above 36 degrees, prompting the Bureau to issue an orange warning for Taitung and a yellow warning for Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Hualien County.
