On June 27, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau issued a special alert for heavy rain due to vigorous development of convective cloud systems in the afternoon, warning of short periods of heavy rainfall. Parts of Pingtung County may experience heavy or torrential rain today, with chances of heavy rain in the mountainous areas of Kaohsiung, Taichung, Nantou, Chiayi, and Hualien. The public is advised to be cautious of lightning, strong gusts, landslides, rockfalls, flash floods, and puddles from this afternoon until tonight. *Torrential Rain: Pingtung County, Hengchun Peninsula *Heavy Rain: Mountainous areas of Taichung City, Nantou County, Chiayi County, Kaohsiung City, and Hualien County - 6 counties and cities are under the alert for heavy or torrential rain.
