On June 29, 2024, the Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert for 6 provinces due to the influence of southwestern winds and vigorous development of convective cloud systems, warning of short-duration heavy rain. Specifically, Hualien County might experience extreme rainfall exceeding 500mm in the next 24 hours, with a risk of landslides, rockfall, and flash floods in mountainous areas. Residents are advised to stay cautious. Additional alerts were issued for other regions as well.
