Due to vigorous development of convective cloud systems in the afternoon, short periods of heavy rain are likely across Taiwan. The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert for 4 counties and cities in northern Taiwan on July 1 at 3:10 p.m., with Taipei City and New Taipei City under a national-level warning lasting until 4:30 p.m. Caution is advised for severe rainfall, thunder, rapid river/stream rises, landslides, rockfalls, debris flows, and low visibility.
