Due to heavy rainfall from a strong convective cloud system, the Suao-Hualien Highway's Chongde Section on Taiwan's Route 9 experienced a large-scale landslide on July 1, with 1,500 cubic meters of debris blocking the road. All vehicles and people were guided to turn back, and the road is expected to reopen before noon on July 2. The South Aozhuo Maintenance Section has dispatched personnel and machinery for emergency repairs, but worsening conditions due to continuous rain prompted a traffic control measure where only outbound traffic is allowed from Chongde to Horen. The public is advised to avoid disaster-prone areas and stay informed about road conditions.
