The Central Weather Bureau issued a special report for heavy rain in 11 counties and cities, warning of intense thunderstorms with short periods of heavy rain. Areas from Kaohsiung to Yilan, mountainous regions of Hualien and Taoyuan, Chiayi, and Tainan have a chance of experiencing heavy rain today with lightning, strong gusts, and potential flooding. Specific alerts were issued for certain regions with continuous thunderstorms expected until the afternoon. The bureau also issued disaster prevention alerts for New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, and Taoyuan City due to the risk of heavy rain and flash floods. Outdoor activities are cautioned as the storm could lead to landslides, rockfalls, and poor visibility affecting road safety.
